Mechanical Issues Hamper Top Finish for Mingus and Wauters in Winchester

Mooresville, NC (October 9, 2017)-Mason Mingus posted a 14th place finish in the Winchester 400 piloting the No. 5 Call 811 Before You Dig Wauters Motorsports Toyota Camry Sunday afternoon at Winchester Speedway.

Mingus started in the 22nd place position on the starting grid for the 46th annual event on the half-mile Indiana racetrack.

The TN driver quickly advanced to the 11th position and was headed for a top-10 finish in the 400-lap event when a mechanical issue hampered the day, relegating the team to a 14th place finish.

Mason Mingus: “We didn’t have the best weekend but I think we were able to learn a lot that will help us moving forward to Pensacola. I have to thank the guys at Wauters Motorsports for the opportunity. We had to overcome a lot of adversity this weekend, but you can’t control parts failures. We will build on this one and hopefully have a good Call 811 before you dig Toyota at the Snowball (Derby).

Mingus will return to the Wauters Motorsports team for the Snowball Derby at 5 Flags Speedway in December.

Mason Mingus & Wauters Motorsports Team Up with Call 811 Before You Dig for the Winchester 400

Mooresville, NC (October 5, 2017)-Mason Mingus returns to the No. 5M Call 811 Before You Dig, Wauters Motorsports Toyota Camry Super Late Model (SLM) for the 46th Annual Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway.

IMG_5586Mingus piloted the Wauters Motorsports entry last weekend in the All American 400 posting a fifth place finish after leading several laps.This will be Mingus’s fifth start in the annual ARCA, CRA Powered by JEGS Super Series event on the fast, half-mile race track.  The team and driver are hoping to bring home win and the prized Winchester Rifle.

Mason Mingus: “The Winchester 400 is my all time favorite race every year. I have had some really good cars there in the past, just not the best of luck. I am excited to be back in Richie’s (Wauters Motorsports) car for this race.   Their equipment has always run really well at Winchester Speedway. I think we learned a lot working together last weekend in Nashville and I hope to build on that and hopefully contend for the win.”

The 46th Annual Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway is slated to begin Sunday, October 8th at 2pm.

Mason Mingus Returns to Racing Roots with Wauters Motorsports in Super Late Model Spectaculars

Mingus to run the All American 400, the Winchester 400 and the Snowball Derby

MOORESVILLE, NC (September 27, 2017)- Mason Mingus will pilot the No. 5 Call 811 Before You Dig, Wauters Motorsports Toyota Camry  Super Late Model (SLM) in the All American 400 (Fairground Speedway Nashville), the Winchester 400 (Winchester Speedway) and the Snowball Derby (5 Flags Speedway).

Mingus has two previous starts in the All American 400, four starts in the Winchester 400 with a best finish of third place in 2013 and two starts in the Snowball Derby.

The Brentwood, TN native spent three years in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) posting one top-five and four top-10 finishes.  Mingus also has four starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Mason Mingus:  “I’m looking forward to racing with Richie (Wauters).  His equipment is top-notch whether it is in the Camping World Truck Series or the Super Late Model Series.  We’ve known each other from the truck series and I have been looking at partnering with someone on some super late model races and he was the first one I called.  Hopefully, we can bring home this Call 811 Before You Dig, Wauters team to a victory in at least one of these historic Super Late Model races.”

Richie Wauters:  “We are excited to have Mason (Mingus) driving for us in these upcoming races.  He has a lot of experience at these tracks so I’m hoping for some top finishes in these prestigious events.”

The 33rd Annual All American 400 is slated for October 1st, the 46th Annual Winchester 400 October 8th and the 50th Annual Snowball Derby November 30th.

Wauters Motorsports and Trevor Noles Team Up for Short Track Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway

trevorBristol, VA (May 18, 2017) – Trevor Noles will pilot the No. 5 Noles Cabinets Toyota Camry in the inaugural Short Track U.S. Nationals Super Late Model race May 21st.

Noles and Wauters Motorsports tested at the famed Bristol Motor Speedway last week in preparation for the 100.

Trevor Noles: “I’m beyond excited for the opportunity to race with the Wauters Motorsports team at the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway.  I’ve only had a few super (late model) races in 2017 as I have been concentrating on college graduation.  With that accomplished I can’t wait to get back to racing.  We tested at Bristol last weekend.  It was my first time at Bristol, as well as, the first time teaming up with Richie (Wauters).  Wow, is all I can say!  The track was wicked fast, the race car was even faster and we finished up with some great lap times.  We will definitely be a contender for the win.  I have to personally thank the crew, family, friends and the many sponsors who have made this possible.”

Noles just received his Degree in Construction Technology management from Pitt Community College.  His charity sponsor, Military Missions in Actions, which he has supported the last several years, will also be on board this weekend.

The Short Truck U.S. Nationals will be sanctioned by the Southern Super Series, ARCA/CRA Super Series and the CARS Super Late Model Tour. will have full coverage of the multi-day event from Bristol Motor Speedway.

  5. Operation Warrior Golfthe Wounded Warrior battalions in North Carolina teach veterans with disabilities how to overcome their limitation(s) through the game of golf. Upon completion of the program, MMIA presents the veteran with a gently-used set of golf clubs.


Forrister Posts 22nd at Atlanta Motor Speedway after Early Race Incident

IMG_3507Korbin Forrister piloting the No. 5 Advanced Medical Laboratories Wauters Motorsports Toyota Tundra posted a 22nd place finish in the running of the Active Pest Control 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Atlanta Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon.

The Cedartown, GA native was clipped on lap two of the 130 lap event by another driver that spun and turned down into Forrister’s truck.  The Wauters Motorsports driver came down pit road several times to repair the damage to the right side of the truck.

Forrister was able to continue but the damage forced him out of the contention for the win relegating him to a 22nd place finish in the Active Pest Control 200.

“We had a hot rod all weekend but unfortunately got caught up in lap 2 accident,”  Korbin Forrister said.  This Wauters Motorsports team worked hard and got it back together and we salvaged a 22nd place finish.  I can’t thank the guys and our sponsors enough.”

The NCWTS is on hiatus until April 1st where the teams will race at Martinsville Speedway.
