George placed the Wauters Motorsports Cheverolet in the 19th-place position on the starting grid for the 167-lap race on the. 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway.

The race will be broadcast live on SPEED beginning at 8:30pm ET Friday, June 7, 2013.

George, Jr. placed the Wauters Motorsports truck in the 11th-place position on the starting grid for the North Carolina Education Lottery 250.

Wauters Motorsports owner Richie Wauters has announced that his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Team has made a change of  manufacturers from Ford to Chevrolet, effective immediately.

The decision by the veteran crew chief follows a series of frustrating performances in the opening rounds of the 2013 season.

“We didn’t see our truck as being capable of producing the kind of speeds to keep up with the rest of the competition during the first few races,” said Wauters. “As a result, we found ourselves losing ground in a series where everybody brings their “A” game.”

“We also feel that there are some opportunities at our disposal with this switch to Chevrolet that will be beneficial to growing our program,” Wauters added.

Earnhardt Childress Racing Engines, the prominent supplier of engines for Chevrolet NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series teams will provide the power.

“We welcome Wauters Motorsports into the Chevrolet camp as we go into Charlotte this week,” said Dayne Pierantoni, Program Manager NCWTS for GM Racing Services. “Having worked with Richie Wauters in the past, we are well aware of his capabilities and past success as a crew chief.  We look forward to working with Richie as he continues to build his team utilizing his ECR powered Chevrolets.”

Driver Tim George Jr. is eager to get back behind the wheel this weekend.

“It will be good to be racing a Chevy again,” said George Jr. “My best racing performances have come in a Chevy.”

The Wauters Motorsports No. 5 Applebee’s Racing Chevrolet will make its debut at the upcoming NCWTS race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 17.

Tim George Jr. posted a best of the season 14th-place finish in the No. 5 Applebee’s Racing Wauters Motorsports Ford F150 Saturday at Kansas Speedway in the SFP 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.

George qualified the Ford F150 in the 23rd-place position for the fourth Camping World Truck Series race of the season.  He and his spotter, Tyler Green, worked diligently to avoid the numerous incidents on-track in the caution filled event, but couldn’t avoid a near catastrophe on pit road. The No. 8 truck, prematurely leaving his pit turned into the side of the No. 5 Wauters Motorsports truck as George entered his spinning the No. 5 sideways in his its pit.  There were no injuries to the pit crew and little damage to the truck, but the team was relegated to a 28th-place restart on lap 27.

George advanced to the eighth-place position during green flag stops and pitted on lap 79 for four tires and fuel.  Unfortunately, the No.5 Applebee’s Racing Ford F150 was nabbed by NASCAR officials for entering pit road too fast and had to serve a pass through penalty, putting the team a lap down.

George and the Wauters Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series persevered, finding their rhythm bringing home the first top-15 finish of the 2013 season.  This will be George’s third top-20 finish with Wauters Motorsports after teaming up at the Series season opener in February.

“We had a decent run today at Kansas Speedway,” Tim George Jr. said. “We had really hoped for a top-10 this week and had to settle with 14th (place).  The chemistry is working right, the pit stops have been great and we are advancing – showing we can run with these guys. Looking forward to Charlotte and seeing if we can get that top-10 then.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will return on Friday, May 17, 2013 for the running of the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The No. 5 Applebee’s Racing Ford F150 team just came off their second of two top-20 finishes in the 2013 season and heading into race four with momentum.  George Jr. has one pole start (2012) at the Kansas City, Kansas racetrack in the Camping World Truck Series and three previous ARCA Racing Series starts all resulting in top-20 finishes.

“I’m looking forward to racing at our first intermediate size track together this weekend,” Tim George Jr said. “This team and I have really been building momentum after having back to back races the last few weeks and I know the Wauters Motorsports guys have been working hard to get this truck ready for Kansas.  I was on the pole last year for the Truck Series race and had a pretty decent day – now we just need to get that pole and a top-10 finish this weekend.”

Owner, Richie Wauters in his tenure as a crew chief has posted three top-10 finishes at the Kansas City, Kansas track with his most recent in 2010 with Aric Almirola.

“Kansas can be a bit tricky but Tim (George, Jr) has some pretty good experience there so, I think we will be fine,” owner, Richie Wauters said. “Each race we’ve been together in since Daytona has progressed better and better and these back to back events have been really adding to that confidence and communication levels between us.”

The SFP 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated for Saturday, April 20, 2013.  SPEED, MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio NASCAR Channel 90 will begin live coverage beginning at 1:30pm ET.

George placed the Ford F150 in the 30th position on the grid in the second annual North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the infamous Rockingham, North Carolina track but was able to advance to bring home the team’s second top-20 finish of the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

“We had a really good truck in Rockingham,” Tim George Jr said.  “The second set of tires we took on during the pit stop seemed off and I struggled there but all in all it was a good day with an 18th-place finish.  I’m looking forward to Kansas, Richie (Wauters), the guys and I am starting to build a lot of momentum together with these back to back races and I’m confident we will continue to advance.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads next week to Kansas Speedway for the SFP 250 Saturday, April 20, 2013.

As the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams head to their third race of the 2013 season Tim George Jr and Wauters Motorsports ready for some back to back racing action.

The two teamed up for the season opener at Daytona International Speedway in February but then the series was on hiatus until the April 6th event at Martinsville Speedway. George and Wauters Motorsports had a solid run at the Martinsville, Virginia short track posting a 22nd-place finish and look forward to creating momentum heading to Rockingham Speedway Sunday, April 14, 2013.

 “I had some difficulty figuring out the cornering on the tires we ran in Martinsville, but the Wauters Motorsports team had some great pit stops which helped us gain positions,” Tim George Jr said.  “When you are racing for points you need to be a bit more conservative at some of these short tracks and we were able to bring home the truck with minimal damage. We have a lot of information now to build on for the fall race at Martinsville.  Now that Richie (Wauters) and I have two races together, at totally different tracks, it will really help build the momentum for the remainder of the season.  I’m looking forward to Rockingham as I’ve run several types of cars there with good results, so I know that will carry over to the No. 5 Applebee’s Racing team this weekend.”

George has one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start with a 16th-place finish in the 2012 inaugural race at Rockingham Speedway.  He has one NASCAR K&N East, two UARA Stars series starts, where he posted a ninth-place finish in 2012, and three ARCA Racing Series starts.

Wauters Motorsports has one previous start at the one-mile, high banked, historic Rockingham Speedway in 2012.

The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 is slated to begin Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm.  Live broadcast coverage of the 200 mile, 200 laps race will begin at 1:30 pm on SPEED, MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 90.
