Mechanical Issues Hamper Top Finish for Mingus and Wauters in Winchester

Mooresville, NC (October 9, 2017)-Mason Mingus posted a 14th place finish in the Winchester 400 piloting the No. 5 Call 811 Before You Dig Wauters Motorsports Toyota Camry Sunday afternoon at Winchester Speedway.

Mingus started in the 22nd place position on the starting grid for the 46th annual event on the half-mile Indiana racetrack.

The TN driver quickly advanced to the 11th position and was headed for a top-10 finish in the 400-lap event when a mechanical issue hampered the day, relegating the team to a 14th place finish.

Mason Mingus: “We didn’t have the best weekend but I think we were able to learn a lot that will help us moving forward to Pensacola. I have to thank the guys at Wauters Motorsports for the opportunity. We had to overcome a lot of adversity this weekend, but you can’t control parts failures. We will build on this one and hopefully have a good Call 811 before you dig Toyota at the Snowball (Derby).

Mingus will return to the Wauters Motorsports team for the Snowball Derby at 5 Flags Speedway in December.
