Mooresville, NC (February 6, 2019)-Bakersfield, CA native, Ryan Reed posted a fifth place finish Saturday Fifth Annual SPEARS Manufacturing Winter Showdown 300 Super Late Model (SLM) event at Kern County Raceway Park (KCRP) in the No. 5 Wauters Motorsports super late model.
Reed started in the seventh position after rain washed out qualifying on the high-banked paved half-mile oval track.
“I had such a great time in my first Winter Showdown,” Ryan Reed said. “Richie (Wauters) and the guys did such a good job and brought an awesome piece for us to race with. I hate that we got damage early in the big wreck at the beginning of stage two. I feel like we had one of the best long run cars and with the way the race played out we never got a chance to show that. Still, a solid top-five and I hope I get to do it again next year!”
Reed pitted for tires after a multi-vehicle accident on the Bakersfield, CA track and was posed to pick up the top spot until the race was shortened due to a power outage in the area. The outage relegated the Wauters Motorsports team to a fifth place finish.
