Bear Boasts 10th at 5 Flags Speedway in Southern Super Series Race with Wauters Motorsports

Pensacola, FL (April 30, 2016)-Quinnton Bear in his second start at 5 Flags Speedway posted a 10th place finish in the Deep South Crane Blizzard Series #1 Southern Super Series (SSS) race Friday night.

IMG_3165Bear piloting the No. 5 Sparco Wauters Motorsports Super Late Model (SLM) Toyota Camry was fastest in final practice, qualified seventh and with the invert started the 125 lap race on the outside front row.

Bear dropped back in the top-10 to preserve his Sparco Camry but midway through the race the car became free, not allowing the Avon, IN driver to get back up to the top-five.

Quinnton Bear:

“The Sparco Camry was really good early on (in the race).  I dropped back to save my stuff and was just cruising.  During the long run the car started to get free around lap 60.  After that, I could never find a rhythm and put together consistent laps.  I feel like I learned a lot and will be better when we come back, for sure.  I have to give a huge thank you to everyone at Wauters (Motorsports) for giving me a good piece.  Driver just wasn’t 100%, but we will be back for the next Blizzard race and will be a lot better.”

Quinnton Bear & Spencer Wauters Ready for Rockin’ & Racin’ at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville

Nashville, TN (April 7, 2016)-Quinnton Bear will pilot the No. 5B SPARCO Toyota Camry and Spencer Wauters will drive the No. 5W Victor Ford super late model (SLM) in the Rockin & Racin CRA Super Series powered by JEGS (CRA) / Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco (SSS) combination race Saturday, April 9th at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.

IMG_1225This will be Bear’s second start on the 18 degree banked 0.596-mile track in Nashville, TN.  In 2015, Bear drove a pro late model in the All-American 400 event.

Quinnton Bear:

“I’m really looking forward to returning to Fairgrounds Speedway.  Any track that has a lot of banking suits my driving style.  I love how it is a two grove track where you can race the top and the bottom.  I’m excited to be working with Richie (Wauters) as my crew chief this weekend.  I really like the format that CRA and the SSS put together for the combined race.  Our goal is to learn as much as possible and come home with the best finish or win in the Team Construction North-South Super Late Model race in the No. 5 Sparco Toyota Camry.”

Wauters has had several starts for his father, Richie Wauters’ team on the short track and considers it one of his favorites.

Spencer Wauters:

IMG_6112“I really love Fairgrounds Speedway! I’m glad to finally be back behind the wheel this season and what a perfect place to race.  I’ve run very well each time I’ve been here but luck just hasn’t been our side. Hopefully, we will be able to get the Victor Ford a solid finish in the combined CRA / SSS race.  It should be an exciting weekend of racing Friday and Saturday nights.”

This will be the first time the CRA and SSS have used the format of two separate point event features then a 75-lap Team Construction North-South Super Late Model challenge, which will pay $5,000 to win.

In addition to the North-South SLM race, Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville will also host the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards which will run following the late model race Saturday evening.

IMG_1224Speed51 will broadcast live racing action on Friday and Saturday during the SLM feature events.  For information on how to purchase the live broadcast visit www.Speed51.com.
